Prices and system details

"Due to fluctuations in the Renewable Energy Credits rebate, prices are constantly

changing. For the latest price list please email info@vicheroes.com.au.

We now have a complete range of sizes, and Sunny Boy, (German) inverters, CMS, (Australia), Eaton, (USA)

Kinglong and AS-3000 inverters. We keep our prices as low as possible and we are

especially cheap for the larger sized systems.

We don't add a margin, just a standard handling fee for all sizes."

Note CSM indoor inverters are a few hundred dollars cheaper. A $200 discount applies to pensioners. All prices are after “solar credits”.

Please allow about $200 for a bi-directional meter from your electricity company. Some extra charges apply for multi-storey buildings, flat roofs or if electrical work is required (this is not usually required). You will receive an inspection and quote before going ahead. Prices may change in future depending on wholesale prices and “solar credits”.

Larger systems are also available.

About the Vic heroes Solar PV system
Oelmaier – the Rolls Royce of Inverters
The inverter is the “brain” of a solar photovoltaic system. It converts DC (direct) current to AC (alternating current – the type used by your household appliances). It also regulates the flow of electricity to your household and the electricity grid.

We prefer to use Oelmaier inverters, a top-quality brand. We wanted a German inverter and considered the well-known Sunny Boy inverters, but these were not always available and had only a 5 year warranty. The Oelmaier has an 8 year warranty, extendable to 20, indicating it is built to last. It is a state-of-the-art transformerless system, with a great voltage range. This ensures maximum efficiency - it works in low or bright light and so can produce more electricity per day than a less technically advanced inverter. It is tough, and can be used indoors or outdoors. Our head electrician considers this to be the Rolls Royce of inverters. While most mono-crystalline panels are reliable, poor quality inverters can fail completely, or may require call-back visits. It pays to get a really good inverter.
CMS2000 inverters are also available. These are designed for indoors (a garage is ideal for them) and they are a few hundred dollars cheaper but are also very good quality. We steer clear of Aero sharp and Latronics inverters.
Ulica Solar Panels
These are mono-crystalline panels, which are known to last and produce the most power per m2 of any type of solar panels. Ulica panels are used in Germany but manufactured in China, as are most of the world’s imported solar panels, and large numbers are now installed in Australia.

Warranty – the warranty covers any defect in manufacture for 5 years. There is a further 25 year warranty on the output of the solar cells. The panels are under warranty to produce at least 90% of their rated power output for 10 years, and at least 80% for 25 years.
Good solar panels are durable and hail resistant, even in a freak hailstorm like the one that hit Melbourne recently.
